Delete your account or data

Use this page to request deletion of your Fancy Working Here account and associated personal data, or to request deletion of specific personal data without closing your account.

How to request deletion

Choose whether you want full account deletion or data-only deletion (keep your account).
Email us from the address registered on your Fancy Working Here account.
Send your request to hello@fancyworkinghere.com with the subject “Account deletion request”.
We will verify ownership of the account and process eligible requests within 30 days (sooner where practicable).

1. Full account deletion

If you request account deletion, we delete or anonymise personal data linked to your account so it can no longer identify you, including:

Account profile (name, email, phone, avatar)
CV / résumé content you stored in Fancy Working Here
Application records where we are able to remove or anonymise them
Saved jobs, alerts, device push tokens and in-app notification preferences
Message content associated with your user account where retained only for you

2. Data we may keep

Some information may be retained where we have a legal or legitimate need, for example:

Billing / tax records — typically up to 6 years where required for accounting and tax law
Security and fraud logs — short retention for abuse prevention
Legal claims / disputes — information needed to establish, exercise or defend legal rights
Business-held copies — employers you applied to may independently hold application data for their own recruitment records; those businesses are separate controllers and you may need to contact them directly

3. Delete some data without deleting your account

You can request deletion of specific personal data (for example a CV, phone number, or message history) while keeping your account active. In your email, clearly state that you want data-only deletion and describe what you want removed. We will confirm what we can delete and what must be retained.

4. Timing

Eligible deletion requests are completed within 30 days of verification. Backup systems may take a short additional period to fully purge residual copies.
